Mayor-Council Form of Government
West Richland is governed by a Strong Mayor or Mayor-Council form of government. Within this structure, citizens elect City Council Members and the Mayor. The Mayor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City and is in charge of all departments and staff within the City. With a staff of around 50, and a population of nearly 14,000, the City is working to meet the challenges and demands of a growing community. Citizens play a vital role, serving on advisory committees and providing elected officials much-valued input.
